ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS: Support Artists and Better Yourself With a New Skill!
These are interesting times we are going through.
The world is looking very different, and evolving as we speak. Things will most likely never go back to ‘normal’, and that’s ok! (What is ‘normal’ anyway?)
One industry that is going to take much more time to recover is Live Music. In 5, 10, 20 years from now, we will look back on 2020 as the year that changed the music industry. For better or for worse remains to be seen, but Live Music will never be the same again.
For lovers of Live Music, this could be a problem. However, with adversity comes opportunity, and there are a plethora of new and amazing opportunities in the world of Live Music awaiting us.

Problem: I want to continue to support artists, but all live music has been canceled.
Solution: Take music lessons!
That’s right, there has never been a better time than right now to take a music lesson.
How do you take music lessons in a world of social distancing?
That same way you do everything right now – online!
Online music lessons? Does that really work?
If it’s done correctly, yes!
Where to Find Online Music Lessons
There are plenty of ways to find an online music lesson, but how do you know if it will be worth your money?
Facebook is a good place to look, and searching the Marketplace will turn up all sorts of artists offering their instruction in virtual one-on-one environments. That’s great, as the money will go directly to the musician, and the live one-on-one sessions are pretty close to an in-person lesson.
But how do you know how good it will be?
If you are able to find reviews of the lessons or contact a former or current student then this is certainly a possibility.
Craigslist is always a possibility, and that gives the possibility to connect with someone local, with whom you could possibly continue lessons in-person once the pandemic has eventually (hopefully) passed.
But we all know the risks of Craigslist.
If you want a guaranteed, safe, secure, and trusted place to find affordable, vetted quality online music instruction, there is one place to look that is, in our opinion, leaps, and bounds above any other.
Artistworks.

As with your instructor, you can share videos of your practice sessions with other students, exchange notes, advice, and encouragement.
You can interact with fellow students through pubic forums and private messaging.

Just like in a real school, students can be each others’ most valuable resource in ArtistWorks.

How can we be so sure?
Because I’m an ArtistWorks student.
After floundering away on the guitar for over 2 decades without going anywhere, a single year of ArtistWorks lessons from Bryan Sutton has elevated my game in a way I never thought possible!
